What We Do
Day on the Bay: A typical day aboard “Freedoms Dream” begins at the dock at Provo Boat Harbor at 8:30 AM. Passengers are boarded at the courtesy dock according to requirements and limitations. A brief safety statement is given by the captain addressing the safety equipment aboard the boat and its use.
Shortly after the safety message is given, the boat will depart from the courtesy dock and we will be underway for a day of pleasure and enjoyment. Depending if the trip is a water tour of the lake or a fishing day, the captain will brief you of what you can expect to happen or see. Bottled water and soft drinks will be provided aboard the vessel for your enjoyment.
The morning hours include a leisurely cruise heading north towards American Fork and Lindon boat harbors. The captain, mate or guide will point out scenic vistas viewable only from the lake as well as fauna and flora including water birds, mammals and other animals.
History of the beautiful lake will be discussed from ancient geological time to the current day and age. Aquatic species such as the numerous fish, plants, endangered species and how they all interact together to create the lake ecology are addressed, as well as the importance of clean water and clean air.
Printed literature will be handed out for those who want to know more about the lake and the ecosystem. Questions and answers are all part of the tour.
The boat will return to the Provo Boat harbor at approximately 12:00 noon to disembark. Special arrangements can be made to have a Barbecue or boxed lunch at the park before you return home.
The boat will load at the courtesy dock at 8:30 AM, unless otherwise scheduled. After a brief safety message and description of what species of fish are currently biting, how we intend to catch them and what other options are available to the group, we will depart.
The species of fish we intend to catch will determine where on the lake we will fish. It might only be a short cruise from the boat harbor or an hour trip to the “hot” location. After arriving, the captain, mate or guide will rig the rods with the appropriate tackle and fishing will begin.
All fishing tackle and baits are provided as well as coffee, tea, bottled water and soft drinks. The crew will clean and prepare your catch while on board and package it for your return home. Fishing techniques will be discussed and demonstrated and everyone aboard is welcome to join in with their favorite fishing tales.
The boat will return to the dock in early afternoon. A Barbecue or boxed lunch can be arranged for the group at the beautiful state park. Full day fishing trips can be arranged, with or without a shore lunch.
